PlascoTrac has announced the release of Hero, a cloud-based incident management solution that enables administrators and teachers to log student progress in the classroom, reinforce positive behavior and analyze how student behavior impacts academic performance.
Designed for K-12 environments, Hero moves PlascoTrac’s existing features to a cloud-based application where it is paired with a suite of tools to better characterize a school environment and its students.
PlascoTrac is focusing its efforts on three main pillars of campus management: classroom incident management, visitor tracking/campus security and student ID badging. Hero marks the first phase of the process.
Though it possesses many of the same features of the legacy PlascoTrac system, the new Hero solution represents a refinement of the concept. The solution will interact with student IDs to record various behavior and academic data. Teachers and administrators can use Hero to track incidents on campus, referrals, good and bad student behavior and event attendance from a desktop, the Hero Mobile Scanning Solution, or an Android or iOS mobile device.
PlascoTrac expects Hero to have an impact beyond academics as well. “Take bullying for example, imagine if schools could easily track where these incidents happen, what students are involved and how frequently the activity happens,” says Mark MacDonald, vice president of PlascoTrac. “This information helps school officials to intervene quickly, armed with far more trend information than they have today.”
