The 24th annual NACCU Conference saw a new batch of award recipients recognized for their outstanding contributions to both the Association and the industry as a whole. Here’s a rundown of the awards and the individuals and institutions that took home the accolades.

It’s import to market a campus card program to both inform students and the campus community of the many uses for their ID as well as to reinforce the value that the credential holds. It can be difficult to make what is a fairly common task into a novel, engaging and fun experience for your target audience.

Nominations for the NACCU 2017 Awards are now open for the Association’s five annual accolades. Award nominations offer a great opportunity for NACCU members to show appreciation for and highlight clients, peer institutions and individuals for a exceptional achievements in 2016. Nominations will be accepted through February 1, 2017.

Bryant University Athletics has launched an official fan rewards program, Bryant Bulldog Rewards, as a way for the campus community to better connect with campus athletics and will accompany the program with a new mobile app. The rewards app will provide fans with information pertinent to all home events and select postseason contests, as well as enable registered users to earn reward points redeemable towards prizes provided by the athletics department.

The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) has partnered with mobile enterprise solutions provider, Driving Mobile Innovation, to develop and launch a new mobile platform for the credential that will include updated mobile apps for iOS and Android and a new mobile website.

The 23rd installment of the NACCU Annual Conference was held last month in San Francisco, Calif. and highlighted a plethora of innovative and valuable initiatives from NACCU member institutions from both the US and Canada. As is the case every year, the Association recognizes those institutions and individuals that have gone above and beyond with their card programs, and this year’s award recipients were recognized at the conference on April 19.

The University of Alabama’s Action Card program has a series of videos, produced internally, that are designed to market the services that the ID card provides. The video series covers the full range of services, addressing practical how-to’s for Bama Cash deposit and use, to entertaining videos detailing online photo submission, athletic ticketing and a general advertisement for the Action Card’s uses viewed through the eyes of an explorer on safari — complete with pith helmet and magnifying glass. Two of the videos have now won ADDY awards from the Tuscaloosa chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

The University of New Brunswick has taken to Twitter to help promote its UCard and card office services, and is running a contest worth $250 in UCard cash. With an overwhelming number of college students using the social media site, New Brunswick’s presence on Twitter is a great place to start when it comes to driving more interest and awareness for the campus card and its valuable services.

High Point University hosted a luncheon for local business partners to show appreciation for the effort put forth to foster a stronger sense of community. The event played host to roughly 100 of the university’s local merchant partners and awarded a few select businesses for their extraordinary efforts.

The National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) is a support organization serving higher education, with university members in the United States, Canada and around the world.
