The Yale Daily News reported that in order to improve workplace safety and campus security the University will no longer issue stickers to visually check whether cards are still active.
Following the winter break, students will no longer receive ID stickers as they did in the past. Instead security guards and other staff must now request the ID holder’s card to be electronically scanned for verification.
School officials state that this improvement would provide the most current information available in determining the validity of an individuals credentials and granting them access to campus facilities.
However, there is no included plan as to when or how the university will install the necessary ID card scan systems across campus.
