VCT And Jet Litho Collaborate on Foil Laminated Card Manufacturing to Better Serve Card-Savvy Customers

CampusIDNews Staff   ||   Jan 13, 2004  ||   ,

Downers Grove, IL- Versatile Card Technology, and Jet LithoColor, Inc. both global leaders in plastic card production, today announced a joint collaboration to promote, license and protect intellectual property rights of patents for production of foil laminated transaction cards.

VCT’s Qualteq division owns patents for methods of making foil faced transaction cards having graphics and Jet LithoColor owns patents for the method of producing foil laminated cards with double-sided printing.  The Qualteq division of Versatile Card Technology, Inc. will manage the licensing with respect to the property rights of the patents.  Together both companies will continue to offer the highest quality foil plastic to their diverse clientele.  The foil laminated card is available for licensing by contacting Nicholas Cooney at VCT, 630-852-5600.

“The foil laminated card is another trend for our savvy card customers because the metallized film provides a mirror-like finish that is perfectly printable for thermal transfer printers or offset printing technologies for personalization,” said Nicholas Cooney, VCT’s President.  “Jet Litho shares our philosophy for quality, and that was a key consideration in working together to manufacture a foil laminated card that complies with ISO standards.”

George Bogdanovic Jet Litho’s President, said, “The spirit of the inventions as legally reflected in the patents needs to be recognized within the industry as well as the specifications of the product.  This joint agreement reflects an ongoing collective solution that is best for all of our customers and our companies.”

Available in a variety of foil colors, including gold, silver and rainbow, the material is so versatile that it can be adaptable to existing designs or new design concepts. The foil laminated card is visually attractive, attention getting and more secure because of the additional foil feature.
