The University of Ottawa has partnered with ITC Systems to develop a campus-wide ecommerce solution to combine its current multiple campus card systems.
Using ITC System’s MultiPlan online student account solution, Ottawa students will be able to use a single contactless, MiFare-based card for all transaction payments across campus: vending, bookstore purchases, dining, laundry charges, printing/copying and e-commerce transactions.
The card will function much like a debit card where transactions are recorded in real-time through an online account hosted by the university. Students can also check their account balances at any time through the web, while administrators and merchants can obtain activity reports they specifically need online as well.
Ottawa Card Services is scheduled to go live with their one-card campus program as of September 2011.
