The State University of New York (SUNY) at Cobleskill has selected the Agilysys’ Eatec inventory and procurement system and InfoGenesis point of sale system to streamline the university’s food service operations. The new system integrates with the institution’s CardSmith mealplan and campus card system, and will manage more than 3,500 meals each day at nine campus-dining facilities.
The new solution is being spearheaded by SUNY Cobleskill Auxiliary Services (CAS), which is responsible for dining, vending and laundry as well as student ID cards.
Agilysys’ Eatec and InfoGenesis POS solutions work in tandem, offering fully integrated management system for food service operations. The InfoGenesis POS system integrates fully with the CardSmith campus card transaction system already in use on the campus..
“The Eatec system, in addition to helping reduce costs and control inventory, also allows us to track sustainability performance,” says Brian Marhaver, executive director for Cobleskill Auxiliary Services. “And the InfoGenesis POS solution, with its integration with CardSmith’s meal plan system, helps us streamline efficiency, enhance profitability and deliver a higher level of customer satisfaction.”
Agilysys Eatec is a Microsoft Windows-based inventory, procurement and production system designed for hospitality and food services. Along with its core purchasing, inventory, recipe, forecasting, production and sales analysis functions, the software also offers modules for catering, cycle planning, retail management, nutrition and allergens.
The InfoGenesis POS system enables addition of workstations without having to build out infrastructure. It features offline capabilities that allows the POS terminal to continue to perform during intermittent server or network outages.
