Arkansas Baptist College, Little Rock, is beginning to enforce its student ID policy requiring all students to carry their identification while on campus. The increased security measures follow the off-campus fatal shooting of one of its students.
The school is also employing two more security guards and is working with Little Rock police to provide more patrols in the area throughout the day and night.
In addition, the school is considering putting up a perimeter fence and security cameras.
Two students were changing a tire on a road near campus a couple weeks ago when a suspect walked up to them and started shooting, according to the Little Rock police. One student died of his injuries while the other student was grazed by one of the bullets.
