A look at a number of campus card events

Following is a description of several pending educational opportunities for card technology professionals.

NACUBO Workshop on Campus Cards
May 2-3, 2002 • Washington DC

This workshop, presented by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), is designed to provide essential information for planning and implementing a comprehensive campus card system. Sessions will explore start-to-finish issues including how to create a strategic business plan, design a request for proposal (RFP), and market and finance the cards. Developing third party partnerships and off-campus use of cards will also be addressed. Real-life examples and lessons learned will be shared from institutions using campus cards. NACAS Seminar: “Beyond the Basics: The Evolution of the Campus Card
to an Added Value Instrument”
July 25-27, 2002 • Burlington, Vermont

This conference, co-sponsored by the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) and the National Association of Campus Card Users (NACCU) is designed as a “201” level program, delving into issues and concepts not usually covered in basic campus card educational sessions. The focus will be on advanced topics such as emerging industry trends, program costs and financing, e-commerce programs, vendor partnerships, crisis planning, and off-campus opportunities. European Campus Card Conference
Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland • June 23-25, 2002

This event is the first ever conference for the emerging European campus card industry. The conference will provide a comprehensive overview of today’s trends, technologies, and future applications as they relate to the European market. Topics will include discussions of the information to be stored on a card, the protection of cardholder privacy, the applications to be fielded, and technologies to be utilized.
