North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, N.C., will be integrating its CBORD-provided campus card and security solutions with network-based public address technology from CBORD partner Digital Acoustics, Lake Bluff, Ill.
Digital Acoustics provides IP-based audio message delivery via intercom and public address notification. Universities can then access networks of intercoms and paging devices from a variety of devices including computers and IP phones.
The university plans to integrate the Digital Acoustics solution with its existing security technologies from Ithaca, N.Y.-based CBORD, including the CS Gold campus card system, CS Access control solution, and CS Notify emergency notification software.
The integration is expected to speed up notifications by simplifying the process of sending a message via multiple media, including cell phone and email, point-of-sale menu displays and public address announcements. It will also allow the university to choose between sound files and text-to-speech configurations, enabling the school to customize delivery methods. Operators may speak live or play recorded audio.
