No more paper tickets for FSU students

Students at Florida State University, Tallahassee, will no longer have to print out their football tickets from home. A new system will link their ticket to their student ID which means the ID will have to be swiped at the stadium before the student can gain entrance.
The move is an attempt to create a more efficient process for ticket issuance, said one athletic official. Students still must request tickets in the same way as years past–beginning at 5 p.m. on the Sunday prior to the game. Students will receive an email confirming the ticket request.
Students must then bring their FSU ID with them to the stadium, where the ID will be swiped like a ticket. Without an FSU ID, students will be unable to enter the stadium.
“[We] wanted to make the process as easy as possible,” said an FSU athletics official. “By having the ticket delivered directly to the students’ FSU ID it makes it easier for students to simply show up at the game and have their card swiped for entry rather than picking up or printing out a physical ticket.”
If student tickets are still available on game day–in other words if the game isn’t a sell-out–students have the chance to get into the game without having requested a ticket.
