Another player has entered the growing mobile food ordering space on college campuses, as Lucova, Inc. has partnered with food service providers serving the higher education market to help campuses deliver a mobile dining solution for students.
Lucova Campus, a Bluetooth-powered mobile app and marketing platform, is specifically designed for higher education institutions. The end user component of the platform consists of a white-label app that can be customized for each individual campus and is available for both iOS and Android devices.
Lucova Campus’ mobile order and pay solution is now live at Missouri Valley College and Hannibal-LaGrange University in partnership with Fresh Ideas Food Service Management.
The app enables students to store meal or payment cards, make purchases directly from a smartphone and receive special offers and discounts. The latest addition to the offering is a familiar mobile ordering function whereby students can order and pay ahead for their meals.
In addition to facilitating transactions, food service staff are equipped with information at the POS, including a student’s face and name, enabling them to have personal interactions with students to improve the transaction experience and to serve as an identity verification tool to ensure that food orders are given to the correct individuals.
The Lucova Campus platform also includes data analytics functions for food service providers, giving them the ability to initiate tailored marketing campaigns, understand student purchasing behavior and amend service offerings accordingly.
