Lehigh University has launched the Passport Parking app on its Bethlehem, Pennsylvania campus, joining a growing roster of institutions to deploy mobile parking solutions.
Passport is a mobile app that enables students, faculty and visitors to pay for and monitor parking from a smartphone and is now servicing over 2,000 locations across North America. Passport’s solutions are available on university campuses nationwide including North Carolina State University, Oregon State University, Michigan State University and the University of Florida, while beyond campus the company powers parking apps for large cities like Boston, Chicago, Toronto and Detroit.
“Lehigh University is committed to providing our students, faculty, and visitors with the most sophisticated parking software in the industry,” says Sharon Field, Manager of Parking Services at Lehigh University. “Passport’s parking app will give our drivers exciting new options for purchasing and monitoring their parking, all of which are flexible to their needs.”
The app enables drivers to pay for metered parking using a debit/credit card, monitor their parking time, and extend the parking session remotely. Users can also access all parking history within the app.
“Many times, the line at the University Center is longer than anticipated, your professor has additional information you don’t want to miss out on, or your meeting is running longer than scheduled,” says Field. “The app will send you a push notification ten minutes before your time expires and will give you the ability to extend your time without leaving your seat. No more ‘expired meter’ tickets!”
Passport is now available in select locations throughout Lehigh’s campus, all of which are designated by Passport signage. The PassportParking app is free to download from both the App Store and the Google Play Store. Users can also manage their parking online at ppprk.com.
