ScholarChip is providing its IDManager Card Issuance Stations to City University of New York (CUNY) institution, Kingsborough Community College.
When Kingsborough went in search of a new campus credential for its students and staff, one particular demand came to mind: flexibility. Above all else, Kingsborough required a single identification card that could unify its various campus services.
In response to this need, ScholarChip provided Kingsborough with a MIFARE ISO 14443 open-standard card. A key feature to these contactless smart cards is that they enable multiple applications to operate on the same piece of plastic.
Meanwhile, ScholarChip has also installed its IDManager Card Issuance Stations on Kingsborough’s campus to facilitate issuance of the contactless smart photo ID cards.
Designed and manufactured by ScholarChip, these mobile stations enable high-volume output. Using the IDManager application, ScholarChip can expedite the ID photography of students and staff via the Web and on both Apple and Android OS. Using this system, Kingsborough was able to issue over 25,000 photo ID-cards to its students and staff in just over one week’s time.
Using the company’s centralized Cloud-based system, ScholarChip provides more than seven distinct contactless card-based services. Additionally, ScholarChip’s card can be integrated across multiple vendor platforms.
In the later phases of the Kingsborough implementation, ScholarChip is expected to provide the college with bus attendance, a parking solution, as well as integration with building access turnstiles.
