Florida Polytechnic University will use CardSmith’s cloud transaction management solution to support the university’s Poly Xpress student IDs. Located in Lakeland, Florida Polytechnic is the state’s newest public university set to open its doors for the first time August 2014.
CardSmith’s solution will support meal plans for residential students, as well as discretionary spending accounts to be used both on and off campus. Cardholders will have web and mobile access to accounts as well as access to a vendor-managed toll-free customer support line.
The new university will also employ CardSmith’s managed services for card production, cardholder care, marketing and off-campus use. This will provide Florida Polytechnic with a fully-deployed web and mobile enabled campus card program from day one.
On behalf of the university, CardSmith will establish and manage a local network of merchants where the Poly’s Xpress ID card can be used. These merchant locations will accept discretionary funds and may also provide special offers to cardholders.
“As a new university focused on technology and engineering, it is important for us to use leading-edge, proven solutions that enable us to efficiently serve our campus community,” says Raymond E. Galleno, executive director of business and auxiliary services at Florida Polytechnic University. “Our team selected the CardSmith solution because it will enable us to launch a comprehensive ID card program on Day 1 of our operations without having to deploy or manage
proprietary systems or software on campus.”
The card program at Florida Poly is slated for a July 2014 launch, in time for the university’s inaugural class.
