The University of Delaware has chosen the Passport parking app to support parking payment and services on the university’s Newark campus.
Delaware now joins a growing roster of campuses to leverage Passport, and will implement the solution at all kiosk parking locations across campus. Users will be able to securely pay for parking via the app, and once they have selected the length of their parking stay and pay, students can then monitor the time left on their session and extend the meter time remotely up to a maximum allotted time.
The parking app is now available at three locations on Delaware’s campus with a fourth, parking-garage location to be made available in the near future. The university decided to launch the parking app in order to offer more user-friendly payment options for students, faculty and visitors on campus. The app will also offer a validation feature that will support parking for special events, speakers and campus visitors.
“Passport will be an exciting addition to the University of Delaware campus,” says Jenni Sparks, parking services manager at the University of Delaware. “We selected Passport because of its flexibility, and are looking forward to offering easier parking payments as well as conveniences like parking validations for events on our campus.”
Passport has been selected as the city parking solution for Boston, Chicago, Toronto and Detroit, and is supporting a growing number of university campuses including North Carolina State University, Oregon State University, Michigan State University and the University of Central Florida.
