Children in Aarhus, Denmark are now able to use a contactless payment card in stores throughout the city as a replacement for cash. Parents can also set daily spending limits and even prevent the acquisition of certain foods based on religious or allergy grounds.
The city is considering adding more functions to the card, using it for payments at municipal sports centers, as a library card or recording attendance at clubs.
