One by one, the advantages of contact chip cards over their contactless counterparts are being chopped off at the knees. Add another to the list. A PC/SC Driver from Inside Contactless enables its Accesso™ USB reader to function like a contact chip reader when attached to a PC. Why is this so remarkable? Because it sets the stage for a straightforward migration of a world of smart card-centric applications to be migrated to the contactless interface.
Another step achieved for the contact/contactless migration with PC/SC driver!
For the past 10 years, INSIDE has thrived on innovation and has kept its initial promise of creating a contactless world. With continuous milestones throughout the years, INSIDE Contactless brings one more achievement to its records, the first on the market, PC/SC driver for contactless reader, an advancement in the migration of a contact to contactless world.
Indeed, INSIDE’s engineers have worked hard on developing the PC/SC Driver for its Accesso™ USB contactless reader. This PC/SC kit is available today for evaluation.
This new driver will allow Accesso™ to be qualified as the contactless smart card reader compliant with Windows device manager, transforming it into an accessible device for all the standardized transactions with the PC/SC interface.
All existing PC applications using PC/SC interface can now utilize Accesso™ without any changes or system alterations. The USB reader is automatically recognized as the compliant PC/SC reader, and accepts all transactions to the smart card interface communicating directly with the card. It allows therefore any contact applications using a PC to migrate into a contactless application. PC Logon can now easily be contactless, no card needs to be inserted into a reader. A simple wave in front of the reader is enough!
INSIDE’s driver is compliant with the Windows XP OS and allows users to communicate with all of INSIDE’s cards and tags, including the ISO 14443-A-4/ISO 14443-B-4 standards.
