Colorado State to scan student IDs at sports events

Students at Colorado State University will for the first time be able to claim their athletic tickets using a new online ticketing portal, and scan their student IDs at the gate for entry.
As reported by The Rocky Mountain Collegian, CSU students were previously required to either pick up their physical tickets in person by showing their student ID at a campus box office or at the stadium on game day. That formula is set to change starting this fall for football, volleyball and both the men’s and women’s basketball games.
Students will now register online and reserve their seats in advance, and rather than printing a paper ticket, students will instead scan their student ID at the gate. The same ticketing process will apply for all games in on-campus stadiums for participating sports.
The only notable exception to the new ticketing system will be a one-off football game that will be played in a neutral venue in Denver. For that game students will have to purchase discounted tickets for the event, and instead of scanning their student ID at Sports Authority Field, the venue, students will choose to either have their mobile ticket scanned directly from their phone or print a hard copy.
