CBORD honors 2013 Excellence Award Winners at 34th Annual User Group Conference
CBORD recently presented its 2013 Excellence Awards to two organizations and an individual during the organization’s 34th annual User Group Conference (UGC) in New Orleans. The award program celebrates operational excellence, leadership, and innovation in three categories: One CBORD, Visionary, and Above & Beyond.
Visionary Award: University of Chicago
University of Chicago received the Visionary Award for standardizing and expanding security technologies across its jurisdiction, which includes 55,000 to 65,000 residents of the city of Chicago beyond its campus boundaries. The university undertook a phased implementation in which it integrated solutions for access control (CS Access), audio notifications (Digital Acoustics and CS Notify), and intelligent video surveillance (NiceVision). At the same time, the university standardized the security technologies used across campus, allowing for more centralized control and greater situational awareness across its many colleges and departments.
Above and Beyond Award: Rob Thayer, Salem State University
Rob Thayer, manager of the ClipperCard program at Salem State University, received the Above & Beyond Award for his leadership and pioneering efforts to make on- and off-campus commerce more convenient for students, staff, and merchants. Through his work with CBORD’s Odyssey PCS, UGryd, and GET solutions, he has expanded services at Salem State to offer students one-card convenience on campus, off campus, and even on their smart phones.
One CBORD Award: Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals
Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals (TJUH) received the One CBORD Award for integrating multiple CBORD solutions across its campus to improve cost savings, increase revenue, and better serve patients, visitors, and staff. TJUH is one of the first CBORD hospital clients to utilize the UGryd system, allowing its ID card to be used for purchases at off-campus restaurants and merchants. The hospital also integrates CBORD’s Odyssey PCS, Foodservice Suite, Nutrition Service Suite, MICROS point-of-sale solutions, and Webfood online ordering system to effectively automate its cashless payments and food service.
CBORD’s 35th annual User Group Conference will be held October 12–15, 2014, in Huntington Beach, California.
