CardSmith and campus bookstore operator Follett Higher Education Group announced an update to Follett’s payment system that is designed to make it easier and quicker for students to use CardSmith campus cards in Follett stores and online at efollett.com.
The update, live now, enables Follett store associates to use the same cash registers to process campus card transactions as well as other forms of payment, cutting down on wait times for customers shopping in the store.
The update also processes orders in real-time. With the new system, online orders purchased with CardSmith-powered campus ID cards instantly communicate with the customer’s account, making it easier for customers to keep track of their funds.
Following a successful test and certification period at a pilot group of Follett stores in fall 2012, the new solution is now available to all CardSmith customers. CardSmith is providing the system integration and required enhancements free of charge for current and prospective clients.
