Blackboard Transact’s Campus Commerce and Security Forum will be held March 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET at the Blackboard Offices, 650 Massachusetts, Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. Registration is free.
The forum will feature presentations by Chad LaDue, American University and Fred Bosworth, Johns Hopkins University. Blackboard Transact personnel will be on hand to discuss the student experience outside the classroom and making campus life more convenient and secure.
Attendees will explore best practices from institutions that have successfully adopted next generation campus card platforms to meet the needs of students, improve safety and security and generate revenue.
Some of the subjects that will be discussed include:
Generating Revenue. With shrinking budgets and increased education costs, discussion will center on cashless auxiliary services and off-campus debit programs that can drive revenue back to universities.
Safety & Security, The Contactless Revolution. Want a safer campus? Contactless technology that identifies and locates students, secures entry to buildings, and monitors hallways and campus grounds can help.
Enhancing Student Services. Make commerce management more efficient while giving students the experiences they expect, whether they’re checking out a book at the library, using a copier, buying vended products or dining on/off campus.
Managing Financial Aid Funds Disbursement. This section will explore ways to simplify disbursement of financial aid credit balances–as well as student payroll–while cutting costs and protecting students against overdraft and PIN debit fees.
