New programmer enables University of Nebraska to program iCLASS™ contactless cards onsite

A new smart card programmer from HID has given the University of Nebraska at Lincoln more start-to-finish control over card issuance, while giving its students and faculty an increased sense of security.

The iCLASS™ CP400 Card Programmer is a hardware and software package that allows a user to read and write information on HID’s iCLASS™ contactless smart cards. 

Axalto chosen to provide Puerto Rico's health care smart card

Zebra has come out with its next generation card printer, the P330i, which has a newly designed card feeder that uses the weight of the card stack to ensure consistent feeding. Card capacity has more than doubled and its printhead now automatically adjusts to uneven card surfaces.

A major plus is that the new system allows the university to control and monitor all campus buildings from a single workstation.

A private Wisconsin pre-K-12 academy has opted for biometric hand readers to regulate school access for its students, faculty, staff, and parents. The Recognition Systems’ hand readers automatically take a three-dimensional reading of the size and shape of a hand and verify the user’s identity in less than one second.
