Purchase College Upgrades the More Card

The Purchase College Association, Inc., the not-for-profit auxiliary service corporation at Purchase College, SUNY announced today a new partnership with CardSmith, a New Jersey company specializing in campus card programs. This partnership provides significant upgrades to the existing one-card program marketed as the “More Card” in an effort to achieve the level of services students entering colleges are expecting. As part of the expanded services, all students, faculty and staff, will receive new More Cards in the Fall.

The latest ammunition in the continuing struggle to keep secure areas secure may come in the form of a small handheld biometric reader that can identify a fingerprint or read a bar code off a truck, license tag, or ID card. With contact and contactless capability, the new reader from the Canadian company, Labcal, can also serve as a backup system if the main server goes down.

The CBORD Group, Inc. and SIVA Corporation announced that the companies have entered into a strategic alliance to integrate SIVA’s iSIVA point-of-sale (POS) software with the CBORDÒ Webfood online ordering application. As a result, iSIVA users will be able to offer their customers the option of placing takeout, delivery, and catering orders for their favorite meals via the Internet. Bruce Lane, Executive VP of The CBORD Group said: “Off-premises dining has become an important growth area for almost every segment of the hospitality industry, and Webfood offers a proven method of increasing off-premises dining sales volume.
