NiSCA to demo new printer at NACCU

Plastic card printer NiSCA has rolled out its newest retransfer printer, the PR-C201, which will be displayed at the 19th annual National Association of Campus Card Users conference in Seattle, Wash., April 21-25.

The PR-C201 features printing speeds of 160 cards per hour, while printing in 24 bit color at 600 dpi.

NiSCA offers a range of printers that produce full color plastic cards for corporations, education and government organizations. The printers are sold through the Team NiSCA sales organization in Somerset, N.J. [end] 

The National Association of Campus Card Users (NACCU) handed out its annual awards at its 20th Annual NACCU Conference held in Orlando, Fla.

The association bestowed its 2013 Distinguished Service Award to Joel Weidner, director of information systems and marketing at Pennsylvania State University. Weidner has been at Penn State for 30 years and has managed the automation process for many of the university’s systems, including food production and inventory control, event ticketing, payroll, residence hall security, dining plan card access and card-based vending, laundry and copier programs. He has also overseen two university-wide re-carding projects.

The CBORD Group and the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) have been recognized for a new mobile-enabled security solution for door access.

CBORD’s solution, dubbed CS Access, serves IIT’s more than 7,700 students and staff and was recently awarded the 2013 Innovative Technology Award by the National Association of Campus Card Users (NACCU). The Chicago based IIT — a Ph.D.-granting university in engineering, sciences, architecture, psychology, design, humanities, business and law — has implemented a number of new mobile-based security features.
