CBORD's CS Access now integrates with ASSA ABLOY offline campus locks

Thursday, June 2, 2011

The CBORD Group and ASSA ABLOY recently announced new integration capabilities between ASSA ABOLY’s offline locks and CBORD’s CS Access IP-based door access control technology.

The new integration will enable the ASSA ABLOY line of Corbin Russwin Access 700 PAC and SARGENT Passport 1000 PG offline locksets to be fully managed within the CS Access application. What this translates into is that within a single CBORD interface, college and university staff can now track and configure security system assignments, schedules, alarms and other functions for both online and offline locks.

The integration will also gives CS Access users new capabilities not previously available with the locks including:

  • Integrated card production: When a student receives a new or replacement card, credentials are encoded at that time, eliminating time-consuming additional steps.

  • Student self-service: Students with lost cards can receive instant access to their residence hall rooms via the Web or their mobile phones with CS Access’ online and mobile-originated capabilities.

  • Housing access maps: Once a resident is assigned to a room, CS Access generates all access assignments required for both online and offline locks automatically, based on the room assignment.

  • Intelligent video: By integrating video solutions, administrators can query access events for selected patrons and locations, making it easy to display specific event video with a single click, rather than searching through hours of recorded footage.

In addition, With CS Access, security personnel and university staff can remotely manage access assignments and more via mobile devices and the Internet. [end]
