SALTO updates campuses on recent access control systems developments

Spanish company SALTO Systems briefed members of the Higher Education Smart Card Association on the latest in campus access control systems during a meeting in London last week.

End users from several higher educational institutions, including the University of Bristol, the University of Reading, Buckinghamshire New University and others heard about best practices in the deployment of campus e-purse card schemes, biometric attendance monitoring and the implications of migrating from Mifare to DESfire or replacing magnetic stripe cards with DESfire cards.


SALTO’s Aznar Sethna discussed he latest developments in card access control and about the advantages of upgrading from masterkey and other less advanced electronic access systems, balancing the need for security with accessibility and safety, and how to create specifications for access control solutions.

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd. is continuing to expand its partner network in China collaborating on new installation ranging parking solutions, access control, and personal identification.

Shenzhen Chuangtong Intelligence Equipment, a Chinese company focusing on the manufacturing of contactless parking solutions and integrated identification systems, will leverage LEGIC based products for access control installations, especially for car parks.
