Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, Lebanon has completed the first phase of a major project to issue students multi-functional student ID cards, according to a local news source.

Upon completion, Holy Spirit students will be issued campus cards, which function as student identity cards and access card-keys to various facilities around campus. The cards will also be linked to the student’s personal bank accounts, and used for debit purchases worldwide.

Phase I of installation, which consisted of installing the network infrastructure between buildings and at campus entrances, is complete; and Phase II, deployment of the card terminals, will begin next year.
