CardSmith launches campus card program at St. John's College, Maryland

Monday, June 28, 2010

St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland is launching a new multi-function campus ID program in time for the start of the fall 2010 semester with the help of CardSmith. The new St. John’s College 1Card will provide payment and privilege control to campus services and locations including the dining hall, coffee shop, bookstore, library, and laundry facilities. Students will have 24/7 online account access and web value transfer services.

The College opted for CardSmith’s Software-as-a Service (SaaS) solution that requires no servers or software to be maintained on campus. Cards will be produced on site but no other facilities or staff will be required to support the program.

“St. John’s has never had a multi-application card and we are looking forward to providing enhanced service and convenience for our constituents,” says the College’s ITS Operations Manager, Anita Brown. “CardSmith’s managed service is a very good fit for our campus.” [end]
