Limestone College extends its contract with CardSmith

Monday, May 24, 2010

Limestone College and CardSmith announced a multi-year renewal and extension of their campus card services agreement.

Under the agreement, CardSmith will continue to provide the college’s Gaffney campus a management service and solution for the LCard, the college’s multi-application ID card.

The card features meal plan accounts and LCash - a prepaid flexible spending account enabling students, faculty and staff to make purchases at the campus store, dining hall, library, copy machines, laundry facilities, the Business Office – and at local off-campus businesses.

Students, parents and authorized guests have 24/7 access to a dedicated program Web site to manage accounts, add value by bank card and more. [end]

Personal information of 9,000 current and prospective students was inadvertently posted online by Valencia College in Orlando. The school has apologized for the mistake.

The information included the students’ names, addresses, dates of birth and student ID numbers but not their Social Security numbers or financial information.
