Heartland accelerates campus aid distribution

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Heartland Payment Systems revealed its newest campus solution, an electronic financial aid distribution platform that utilizes a single financial account for easy integration with campus card systems.

The Acceluraid (accelerate-your-aid) program enables students fast and easy access to financial aid refunds through a single account that can be linked to a prepaid campus ID card or a school-branded debit card that meets Title IV, Regulation E and PCI requirements.

North Central Missouri College is one of the first to use the Acceluraid program, in distributing $2 million in financial aid to its 1,700 students. Students can access funds through online bill pay, free withdrawals from the Heartland provided ATMs, as well as cash back options from participating merchants.

Acceluraid eliminates the need to issue paper checks, thus reducing the costs, delays and other challenges associated with aid disbursement.

Acceluraid expands students’ off-campus purchasing power by providing them with a debit card from a major card brand that is accepted at millions of locations. [end]
