Equitrac Express reduces print waste on campus

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Equitrac Corp., a Plantation, Fla. print solutions provider, has rolled out the latest version of Equitrac Express designed for colleges, universities and K-12 schools which can help drive down document printing costs and print and toner waste, while enforcing student print quotas, eliminating unclaimed print jobs and providing student payment integration options.

Equitrac Express integrates with solutions from Blackboard and CBORD to let a campus card accounting system act as the single source for centralized accounting data. This means students and administrators need to maintain only one account and use only one card to pay for all of their print and copy activity.

Equitrac Express provides the scalability to manage from one to thousands of multi-function devices, copiers and scanners on campuses and across school districts.

Some of the new features include:

  • Pop-up notification now supports features such as hypertext links.

  • Cost preview pop-up can now display a campus card balance, giving students control over which of their accounts should be charged for a print job.

  • A Web-based release station allows end users to log on and release print jobs from common browsers. .

  • Equitrac Express now supports Apple Remote Desktop, direct IP printing to Macintosh workstations and both PowerPC and Intel platforms.
