Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Evolis, a designer and manufacturer of ID card printers, announced that its two top-selling single and dual-sided card printers – Pebble and Dualys – are supported by ExpressDigital, a primary provider of software and services for photographers and labs. Photographers now can design high-quality ID cards with ExpressDigital Darkroom software and print them with their Evolis card printer.

ExpressDigital enables photographers to manage their daily photography workflow. The ExpressDigital Darkroom software is available in three editions – Core, Professional and Assembly.

The Evolis card printers make it easy to personalize any cards with text, graphics, pictures and bar codes, and print them in small runs or large volumes. The Pebble and Dualys card printers also offer the latest encoding options – magnetic stripe, contact and contactless smart cards – and a come with a unique 3-year warranty.

“This partnership will enhance our presence in the photography industry. Our distributors can now offer a complete package to all the photographers who need a solution as powerful as the photography they shoot,” says Gerardo Talavera, managing director of Evolis for the Americas. “Photographers will also be able to target new markets and grow their business faster.” [end]

Evolis announced the new Tattoo RW, a compact monochrome printer that can erase and print up to 500 times the same card.

The new Tattoo RW is designed to print on rewritable cards. Such cards contain a thermochromic material that makes data (text, graphics and barcodes) visible or vanish, depending on the temperature to which the card is exposed. This process can be rolled back and the same card can be erased and reprinted up to 500 times.
