CardSmith acquires JSA patent license

Friday, December 5, 2008

Pennsylvania campus card provider CardSmith LLC has reached a permanent license agreement with JSA Technologies in connection with JSA’s on-line value transfer patent. As a result, current and prospective CardSmith clients are now protected and licensed by JSA to use CardSmith’s On-Line Cardholder Account Center and Web Value Transfer Service.

“Web-based value transfer is a fundamental and valuable element of our service, and it was very important to us to eliminate any uncertainty with respect to the JSA patent as it concerned CardSmith or our clients,” said CardSmith President Jay Summerall. “This agreement accomplished that objective. It means business as usual for our current clients and gives the marketplace assurance that CardSmith’s service is fully licensed.” [end]
