Streamlined card system to require new cards at Maine college

Friday, November 21, 2008

Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine, is moving towards what it calls a one door access control system, replacing two different systems with one. The older proximity card system will be replaced with one from CS Gold, which already control some of the doors. Students, faculty and staff will all receive new, redesigned ID cards when they return from winter break.

“The CS Gold system will allow us much more flexibility on the back end for programming door access and effectively managing access. Additionally, consolidating card-related functions into one office that can assist with door access, vending, laundry and various account balance issues just makes sense,” said one school administrator. CS Gold is a product of campus card provider CBORD.
