Heartland teams with Identification Systems Group to bring card programs to more colleges

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Heartland Payment Systems, a provider of credit/debit/prepaid card processing, payroll, check management and payments services, has teamed with Identification Systems Group, a nationwide network of suppliers of identification and card issuing products and services. The new link will help expand Heartland’s campus card programs to more colleges and universities.

ISG will begin to offer its clients Heartland’s Campus Solutions’ OneCard System, providing them with services such as student, faculty and staff identification, dining, access control, security, vending, print control, recreation and event management, equipment rental, parking and activity verification. The modular system provides both hardware and software.

In addition, when powered by Heartland’s Give Something Back Network, the OneCard and its duplicative contactless tag give campuses expanded functionality. The complementary tag–which can be affixed to cell phones, PDAs and other portable devices–can be used like a contactless card, such as paying at vending and laundry machines, providing facility access, checking out library books, buying meals and receiving financial aid, tuition reimbursement and refunds.

When used for off-campus purchases, the card/tag allows students, faculty and staff to “give something back” by automatically making charitable donations to the sponsoring school with every purchase.

Heartland Campus Solutions and Heartland’s Give Something Back Network were recently recognized by Card & Payments magazine for this approach to campus payment solutions. [end]
