U.S. Bank partnership gives De Anza College students ATM benefits

Thursday, June 19, 2008 in News

Students at De Anza College, a community college in Cupertino, Calif., will have one less card thanks to a contract with U.S. Bank that will add ATM capability to their De Anza Associated Student Body Identification Cards. The new cards could be available as soon as the end of the fall quarter and will include two changes: a longer number, allowing it to function as a debit card, and the U.S. Bank logo on the card’s back.

“It’s one less card you have to haul around,” said De Anza vice president of finance and college services Jeanine Hawk. Hopefully this will encourage students to get a DASB ID because of its additional advantage, she said.

The additional revenue generated by the agreement with the bank can be used to increase funding to programs supported by the college’s student government, such as the Tutorial Center and the library to ameliorate problems from budget cuts next year. U.S. Bank is also ready to offer Financial Wellness seminars to students on banking basics, budgeting and other topics that students are interested in.
