MARTA Breeze system experiences glitch
MARTA officials hope Atlanta’s rapid transit system will have a smoother ride today. The system experienced a glitch when its new $190 million contactless fare system called Breeze stopped working forcing MARTA to open gates or collect fares by hand. The system began to crash during morning rush hour after an update was installed during the previous night. City buses as well as the 38 rail stations in the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority experienced problems throughout the day and into the afternoon rush hour.
