SmartCentric, Integrated Engineering announce partnership to bring contactless biometric physical access to SmartCity

A partnership between campus card provider SmartCentric and Integrated Engineering allows SmartCentric to offer contactless biometric access capabilities on the same card, giving its customers the ability to control access to restricted areas.


Dublin, Ireland and West Palm Beach, Florida–SmartCentric Technologies International Ltd (SmartCentric), the leading provider of smart card systems in the campus market, has partnered with Integrated Engineering, leading powerhouse in contactless smart card solutions, to provide the SmartCity Biometric Contactless Smart Card Physical Access Application.

StarChip and CEA-Leti have inked a partnership agreement to develop a contactless front end for smart card applications.

The partnership includes technology and know-how transfer to StarChip. With this combined experience in secure integrated circuit development and contactless technology, StarChip will roll out state-of-the-art smart card products to enable applications in transport, banking and identity.

NXP Semiconductors and HID Global announced a partnership to create a global, generic mobile access solution for NFC-enabled mobile phones.
