EQUITRAC ANNOUNCES NEW UPGRADES TO EQUITRAC OFFICE 3.0.3 AND EQUITRAC EXPRESS 3.0.3 PRINT AND COPY MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE Product Enhancements for Office and Campus Environment Include Flexible Options for User Authentication, Automated Device Output Configuration and Support for Oracle 10g Database

BOSTON, MA – November 8, 2005 – Equitrac Corporation, the most trusted name in intelligent cost recovery and print management solutions worldwide, today announced new productivity-enhancing upgrades to its market-leading print-tracking and output management solutions for the general office environment and universities, colleges and libraries faced with managing the soaring costs of print and copy output.

Announced here today at the “CAPV Office Document Solutions ’05” conference, the new upgrade to Equitrac Office 3.0.3 helps streamline administrative tasks and further simplify print and document tracking functions for businesses that need to monitor, measure and manage print and other document output activity throughout the enterprise.

At the same time, the upgraded version of Equitrac Express 3.0.3 for the education market further enhances the ability of administrators at libraries, university and college campuses to fully monitor multi-function device usage, reduce waste and recover expenses through an easy-to-use system that accounts for all campus-wide printing and copying.

“In today’s economy, more than ever, businesses, educational institutions and other organizations need to be able to effectively track printing and monitor device usage in the efforts to control waste and expenses and improve their bottom line,” said Mike Rich, CEO, Equitrac Corporation. “Equitrac is proud to contribute to that effort by making available to enterprise, college and university administrators these dynamic, new enhancements in Equitrac Office 3.0.3 and Equitrac Express 3.0.3, the leading print-tracking and document management solutions for the office and campus environments.”

Several features new to Equitrac Office 3.0.3 serve to further enhance the software’s reputation among office network administrators as a premier print-tracking and document management software solution, including:

  • Easily configured pop-up notification of routing actions to either the workstation or the logged-on user directly from the Equitrac server;
  • Automated configuration of devices for color and monochrome output, ensuring appropriate tracking and chargeback for each device and print job;
  • Multiple security options for end-user authentication at Equitrac Release Station; and,
  • Full support for the popular Oracle 10g enterprise database, designed for high availability and scalable to offices and enterprises of all sizes.

Including many of these same feature enhancements tailored to the educational campus environment, the new Equitrac Express 3.0.3 also provides college, university and library network administrators with the convenient, new option of individual user account balance previewing, configured to appear in the cost preview screen. This will allow students, faculty and staff to check their individual balance and ensure sufficient funds are available for their desired print or copy transaction. This new feature also dovetails with Equitrac’s detailed pricing functionality, allowing job cost previewing at point of sale and distinct output cost accounting for multiple finishing options for color or black-and-white.

Building upon Equitrac Express’s trademark product features for the educational environment, Equitrac Express 3.0.3 also includes integration with online campus card accounting systems to allow users to select at the time of transaction the account to be debited, plus support for a wide range of stored value card reader terminals, including Equitrac’s own Pay Station readers, providing simple off-line payment options to end users.

Equitrac Office 3.0.3 and Equitrac Express 3.0.3 support networked multifunction devices from all major office equipment manufacturers and fully integrates into an organization’s existing print server architecture. Both products are available for immediate shipping.
