Campus card company launches roommate matching system

Using a page from companies that guarantee you can “find the perfect mate” by using their services, General Meters™ has developed a software package that allows students to find their future roommates. The web-based program is available to any college, even those who don’t utilize General Meters’ University One-Card System™, said the company’s Fred Emery, systems marketing.

Lake Superior launches new campus ID program

Lake Superior College (LSC) in Duluth, Minn. has launched a new official campus ID dubbed the LSCPlus Card, an all-in-one swipeable card for students.

The LSCPlus Card will work similar to a debit card, storing any remaining student loan balances and work study, student employment payments. The new cards will also be used for access to campus services and functions, granting students’ library privileges, and a free Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) bus pass.

Superdrug launches contactless payment at more than 50 stores

Superdrug, one of Britain’s largest beauty and health retailers, has introduced contactless payment for its in-store customers, according to Retail Gazette.

Created by Streamline and Visa Europe, the contactless system will enable customers to make payments of up to £15 (approx. USD $23) by simply waving their contactless bank card at the more than 50 participating Superdrug stores in London and Liverpool.
