Washington DC, April 23rd, 2004- INSIDE Contactless today announces at CTST 2004 its partnership with Cirque Input Solutions, leading provider of capacitive-based input solutions, to develop GlideTouch, an integrated contactless touchpad suitable for the majority of laptop and desktop PCs worldwide.

Cirque’s GlideTouch provides a programmable touchpad with full mouse cursor navigation and button support. This contactless card reader, is at this time based on INSIDE’s Accesso™ OEM technology has an optional integrated fingerprint reader allowing secure data input.

The 13.56 MHz reader is compliant with ISO 14443 A&B, 15693 standards as well as FeliCa™. The communication’s distance up to 5 cm and upcoming PC/SC drivers will allow the integration of the reader into existing contact card applications. The antenna is integrated around the peripheral of the active touchpad area with the electronic reader components fully integrated with the GlideTouch USB interface.

Besides INSIDE’s contactless reader the GlideTouch also contains an optional biometric fingerprint for user identification and a capacitive touchpad technologies creating a fully integrated system for any PC application.
