Fargo Electronics To Exhibit DTC500 Series At NASSP

Monday, March 4, 2002

ATLANTA (March 1 2002) –”School security has never been more important, and Fargo Electronics offers functional, secure, and affordable solutions to identify faculty, staff, visitors and students,” said Sharon Steinhoff Smith, Fargo’s director of marketing. “Fargo is the name educators have trusted for years to provide capable, easy-to-use badging solutions,” she said.

Fargo is exhibiting the DTC525 and Persona C-11 card printer/encoders in Booth 1050 at The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) 86th Annual Convention and Exposition here March 1-4 at the Georgia World Congress Center. NASSP is hosting more than 6,000 middle level and high school principals from across the country.

Fargo recently released a new Apple Macintosh Driver Kit for the Fargo DTC500 Series, making these popular card printer/encoders available to education and other market segments that utilize Macintosh computers.

The new drivers will allow either the Fargo DTC510/515 (single-sided) or the DTC520/525 (dual-sided) Card Printer/Encoders to work on any Macintosh running Mac OS 8.6 or higher. Mac OS X is not currently supported. The new drivers – offered free of charge – can be downloaded directly at http://www.fargo.com/techsupport/driversfirmware_results.asp, obtained on CDs as a kit (P/N 085641) from a local Fargo Solution Provider, or ordered directly from Fargo.

“Because Fargo is the innovative leader, principals feel confident that their ID system will serve their school’s needs — both today and tomorrow. Fargo card personalization systems can be customized to meet your school’s unique badging, security, and budget requirements by Fargo systems integrators, the most trusted professionals in the business,” she said.

“With today’s tight budgets and increasing security concerns, every administrator faces the same questions: How can we make our school safer? How can our school run more efficiently?” said Steinhoff Smith. “With a digital photo ID system from Fargo, you can have ID cards that quickly identify those who belong in school – and those who don’t. At the same time, ID cards can control access to facilities and restricted areas, or automate several school operations with one, easy-to-use ID card.”
