Lowell Adkins Announces Consulting Practice

February 14, 2002 - Lowell Adkins announces the opening of a consulting practice for higher education. Recognized as one of the pioneers in the development and implementation of card systems for higher education, Lowell was Director of the DukeCard System at Duke University. Under his leadership, the DukeCard program became one of the nation’s leading comprehensive campus card programs.




Lowell has most recently been the General Manager for the Commerce and Access Solutions division of Blackboard Inc. He also served in several senior leadership roles in the CampusWide division of AT&T.

While at Duke, Lowell provided consulting services to a number of colleges and universities and industry organizations. He has presented papers and conducted workshops and seminars at various regional, national, and international events, including NACCU, NACUBO, NACAS and CardTech/SecurTech. Lowell assisted in the establishment of the national office of NACCU.

“I am very excited to be able to again work directly with the folks in higher education”, said Lowell. “This industry has provided me a number of great opportunities for personal and professional growth and now I’m looking forward to being able to share what I’ve learned and help others along their way.”
