CBORD and Best Access Systems announce Strategic Alliance

Friday, February 1, 2002

Ithaca, New York—The CBORD Group, Inc., a leading supplier of housing management systems and campus-wide card systems, is pleased to announce a strategic alliance with Best Access Systems of Indianapolis, Indiana. Best Access Systems (formerly Best Lock Corporation), has been a provider of security products for over 75 years, having designed and supplied access control systems for some of the largest corporations, institutions, and educational facilities in the United States and beyond. The partnership, to be announced at the annual meeting of NACCU (the National Association of Campus Card Users), brings integrated solutions with BEST’s door access systems together with CBORD’s campus-wide card systems. The BEST B.A.S.I.S. on line-off line access control software / CBORD Odyssey PCS Interface allows automatic updates to both systems when there are changes in just one of the systems. The interface also enables end users to populate cardholder information in the database of BOTH systems with a single entry. This includes the ability to notify the other system when a card is lost, reissued, or number is changed. “We are thrilled with this alliance,” stated Bruce Lane, Vice President of Communicating Systems for CBORD, “… because it allows us to provide more comprehensive solutions to our clients, which is our number one goal.”

Best Access Systems is a provider of security products and services for industrial, commercial and institutional facilities, employing more than 1600 people with sales offices across the U.S, Canada, and several other countries.

The CBORD Group is a worldwide software and integration company for campus-wide ID card programs, housing management, and cashless dining systems located in Ithaca, New York. Providing card-based solutions for a wide variety of markets including colleges and universities, corporate, and healthcare facilities for over 25 years.
